Book Printing/Freight Update

Hey all Andreas (publisher) here, Zak asked me to write an update for the project to talk about production and fulfillment, and that it would make more sense to come from the horses mouth than to transcribe whats going on.
So, good news is that books and decks are done! We’re working on booking freight to our three warehouses. The one wrinkle that I've been working on for the past week has been our Australia and United Kingdom locations.. Due to the lower volumes of product they were looking to charge a rate that equated to $6-9/book…which is a lot (conversely US freight is less than $1/book. I’m currently checking with other freight partners to double check options. But also, we conveniently have a different manufacturing project that is just wrapping up (owlbear plush accessories and keychains), and we’ll be shipping that product to the same warehouse locations as this one. If we don’t find a better rate, we’ll be merging the Europe and Australia freight with the owlbears to benefit from a larger shipment and lower rate (which should only delay things for Oceania and Europe for about a month). Once US is fully booked, I’ll be able to get a better estimate for fulfillment timeline.. Im trying to get everyhting out before year's end, and will keep you updated as we learn more!
Also, as we get closer to books arriving on-shore, we'll be sure to make sure that everyone updates their shipping address. Also (because i mentioned shipping and i had to sanity check for myself), we havenot locked down or charged cards on backerkit yet, this project was set up as a charge-shipping later, and now we're getting closer to that I should start getting those estimates ready so that once the books arrive, the warehouse can promptly start shipping.
July Update - Production Complete

Hi all,
A very short one this month, but good news!
All Production Finished
I've heard from Andreas at Metal Weave Games that production is wrapped up on all rewards, and he is sending in destination volumes for each of our distribution hubs. That should mean that very soon we will have our books and cards on ships headed around the globe. From there, our distributors will be organising the stock into individual shipments for you.
I will of course update when we have that confirmed. It'll be nice to know that things are quite literally moving!
There are two final stretch goals still in the works: the Epilogue Adventure and the much awaited Solo Mode. I'm hoping to have the Epilogue released soon, after which work can properly begin on the Solo Mode.
I just want to say again, I know we have pushed well past our original fulfilment estimate at this point, and I'm fully aware that waiting can be frustrating. I hope that you feel encouraged that, although slow, things have been proceding steadily.
As always I massively appreciate your patience and support.

June Update - Production Ending in July, New Stretch Goal Release

Hello all,
Just a short one today, with two pieces of positive news to share.
Production Completion Date
After a few rounds of back-and-forth between the printers and Andreas at Metal Weave Games, mostly concerning the print specs of the Card Deck, I've been told that all mass production for campaign rewards will be completed on (or close to) July 23rd.
I have requested more photos of the process, and will share whatever I receive.
Hopefully once everything is complete, it won't take long to get it on a ship to our distribution hubs, and from there on to you all.
Stretch Goal Release - Adventures in Dunia
A new digital download is available for backers via the Backerkit downloads page. This time, it's Adventures in Dunia, a collection of four short adventures taking place across the Dunia Region.
These adventures are designed both to supplement the Legend's Wake campaign, and offer alternative ways to enjoy the Dunia Region presented in the book. They don't directly tie into the main campaign storyline, so can be used flexibly to suit your preferences.
The four adventures included are:
1. The Sapphire King When a palaeontological dig team unearths a colossal animon fossil beneath Cerulean Gorge, a prehistoric power stirs to life. When the raw power of Evolution rears its head, can this natural disaster be averted?
2. Ring of Clover, Ring of Iron Mysterious sounds of bells ringing emanate from a lost, overgrown mansion in Fairycap Forest, and the fey animon who dwell there flee before the arrival of an invasive Mechantic hive. Can balance be preserved in Clovershire?
3. Battle City Calling cards left across Iscalon City indicate the arrival of a powerful animon tamer: one who steals the League Patches of those they defeat. When a greater theft takes place, can this mystery tamer finally be tracked down?
4. Whispering Willows New regulation threatens to forever change the Willowford post office, and see its beloved postmaster Flora Lane ousted from the town. Might the appearance of a friendly Sapscallion hold the key to preventing this countryside crisis?

May Update - Final Print Samples, New Stretch Goal Release, UKGE!

Hello everyone,
Welcome to another Legend's Wake update! I apologise for missing the April update - the main reason for this is that production has been gradually ticking away in the background, with not much new info to share. That is still more or less the case, but I do have a couple of new things to share now!
Final Production Samples
In the last update I shared a video we'd received from the printer showing off print samples of the various rewards. There were a couple of points of feedback we had to sort out with them, such as a misaligned cover, and the thickness of the cardstock used for the card deck. These have all been sorted, and a little while ago I received the final print sample of the book directly.

It looks and feels really good - I am confident in saying that the wait will be worth it!
Print Timeline
I have been pushing to get a clear timeline of production but unfortunately haven't been provided one by the printers yet. The latest I've been told is that the final print run following alterations based on the first sample was started on May 6th or shortly after. Based on that I'd expect for printing to be finished in June. As soon as I have confirmation and a clear timeline, I will pass it on to you in an update.
Stretch Goal Release - Refracted Horizon Dungeon Den
A new digital download is available from the downloads list on Backerkit! This time it's a pre-built Dungeon Den called Refracted Horizon, which can be used during or after the Legend's Wake campaign, and takes the Animon Characters into a dream-like realm where avatars of Empyros and Terramu clash for supremacy.
As a Dungeon Den, inspired by Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, this adventure is for the Animon only, and makes use of the optional ruleset provided in Legend's Wake.
You should soon receive an email notifying you about the newly available download. I hope you enjoy!
The next stretch goal on the list is a collection of further adventures in Dunia, which I hope to be releasing in June!

As a final note, Animon Story is going to be at UKGE at the NEC, Birmingham, this weekend! We are in Hall 4, stand 4-239 - we're sharing a space with our friends over at BREAK!! RPG, and in-fact we will have a very limited print run of BREAK!! POINT zines available on the stall, along with books, stickers, and pins.
We will also have the sole Legend's Wake final print sample with us, so you can flick through the physical book.

March Update - Print Samples & A New Community Discord Server

Hello all,
I have some very exciting things to share with you this month - a first look at the print samples for Legend's Wake, the Dunia Map, and the new Card Deck! We also have a new Discord server up and running, which I'll introduce down below.
Print Samples
LongPack have sent over images of the print samples, and things are looking really good. I have to say, I'm just as eager to get these in-hand as you all are. As samples, there are of course corrections and adjustments to make for the final product. One of the more noticeable ones here is on the Legend's Wake book - the dimensions for the spine were slightly out, making the cover art incorrectly aligned. There was also a fix needed for how the map will be placed inside the back cover.
Even so, I hope you'll agree it's awesome to see something very close to the final product!
With regard to the printed A3 map, you might notice that the rear side is the quick reference sheet from the Animon Story core rulebook. When the map stretch goal was unlocked, I mentioned that the rear side might be an animon-tracker, however when designing it, I found that concept to be difficult to execute in practice.
I could put the silhoettes of every animon in the book on there, but without having a sticker set or something similar, it would be difficult to get that feeling of progress, of registering newly discovered animon through play. I also felt that it might be at odds with the function of the map.
The quick reference may be a little less visually exciting, but I'm hoping it will be a nice practical game aid, and it also means the print map has a use for those not playing in the Dunia Region.
A New Discord & Introducing Leaf & Lance!
I'm delighted to introduce Leaf & Lance, a new home for the joint creative works of myself and my partner Leo (@Detheria). This is a new 'brand' we've been working on for a while, which will be the name under which our games and other creative projects will be published. This includes Animon Story (though it won't change our publishing partnership with Metal Weave Games).
For Kickstarter backers, not much will change - only that you'll see the Leaf & Lance name connected with our work from now on.
As part of the Leaf & Lance launch, we have also created a new official community Discord server, where folks can gather to chat about Animon Story, TTRPGs, and anything else.
